The cross has no power. None. Not in and of itself. The One who gave His life on the cross He has ALL power. He makes the power of the cross effective not just because He was God but because He was obedient even unto death. The death of the Cross.

Everyone will suffer. Saint and sinner alike. Obedience during the trial. Humility during the pruning that is the aim. Any one can die. Everyone will die. But to die humbly and obediently now that takes God.
