Happy Man

Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.” (Psalms 127:3-5 ESV)

Voddie Baucham pointed out that the KJV and the ESV are different here in this verse. The ESV really gives us a whole new perspective. I have always thought read and heard that this scripture implies that a man with alot of children is happy, but the ESV says blessed is the man “who fills his quiver", which seems to implicate that a man who is seeking and allowing children is blessed. A man who believes children are truly a reward is blessed, rather than just a man who has a full quiver, which seems more in character with the Lord as He is always much more concerned with our hearts than He is our performance.
